A Pinterest manager is a type of virtual assistant who uses Pinterest to promote the products, contents, and services of an organization.
The promotion includes creating advertisements on Pinterest to create leads and attract potential customers. Pinterest Managers also create engaging content for the Pinterest Board, so that their account will grow more and more.
Since I have already told you about the fact that I am very much interested in Marketing, social media is something that I spend time on way too much.
It was a good idea for me to mix up these two things to become a Pinterest Manager. It was a life-changing decision of my life that made me realize my true potential in myself.
What Does a Pinterest Manager Do?
A Pinterest manager is responsible for handling the various activities of a Pinterest business account. Right from setting up the business Pinterest profile to keywording the profile and performing the keyword research, the manager undertakes every key responsibility here. Last but not least, the major responsibility of the Pinterest manager includes creating boards and pins at the scheduled time and performing the analytics of the Pinterest account.
All in all, a Pinterest manager undertakes everything to run a successful Pinterest account.
Here are the key skills that a Pinterest manager needs to necessarily have:
1. Pinterest Design
I have created so many design pins to draw the attention of the viewer on my page. “First impression is the last impression”, I guess we all can agree on that.
If you are not leaving a good impact on your audience using your design, then you are lacking in the first stage of being a Pinterest Manager.
Make sure that you are creating and designing pins to appeal to and make the viewer stay on that page. And if the viewer is clicking on the pin then it is a win-win situation for you.
2. Pinterest Audit
Auditing refers to analyzing, modifying, and improving the pins, boards, and profiles of the link so that you would be able to leave an overall amazing experience on the viewer.
Let me tell you that it is really important to find all the mistakes that you can in the profile of your client. It is for their business benefit.
One thing that I have noticed so far is that the audience on Pinterest is mostly perfectionists, and they look for profiles that look perfect.
As a Pinterest Manager, I have always made sure to make every change that needs to be made to optimize the content of my client’s profile.
3. Scheduling
Scheduling is something that has helped me a lot to post the pins at the right time.
I have noticed that when I post something between 3 PM to 9 PM; a huge number of viewers interact with the pins.
So, make sure that you are posting pins at the right time.
4. Revamp Boards
One of the amazing features of Pinterest is the Revamp Boards that help to optimize the boards. You can include the name and description as per your preferences.
It is a great idea to use the necessary keywords for the best optimization.
5. Manage Analytics
Analytics involves the growth and decline in the number of engagements on your posts. Pinterest has a complete tracking and metrics system.
You can simply track these metrics to check the progress of your Pinterest business profile.
6. Engagement
Create engaging contents for the viewers to engage with your posts.
It is not just restricted to this, rather you can start to build your network with other organizations that can help you promote your page.

With my freelancing services, I created a good portfolio, and then I started to create some good content on my own Pinterest profile, and in the end, I got my website.
One of the most important things to note is to start building a strong network. The people on LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and other platforms are easy to connect with. You should also attend some events where you can meet relevant people.

How Do Pinterest Managers Make Money?
Understanding how all these Pinterest managers are making money can be a little tricky. There is a chance that they could be making more than you.
Let me tell you that several factors decide how much a Pinterest Manager is making. Do you want to guess what it is? Okay!
The Level of Experience, your graphic designing skills, your creativity, years of working, a field of knowledge: all these are some important factors.
I will suggest you focus on your upskilling in the field of Pinterest Management.
1. Niche Down
Choose a niche and select it for yourself to work on. I am mostly interested in fashion and beauty.
So, I deal with businesses that are into fashion design, bridal dresses, bridal make-up, men’s fashion, etc.
Choosing a niche in fashion has helped me a lot because I have a huge interest in being a fashion person.
So, my advice is to see what your interest lies in, choose a niche, work on your chosen niche, and then go ahead with it. This way you would be able to gather knowledge and you would use that knowledge anywhere.
Second, it is important to choose your niche because you will stay focused in one place.
In this competitive market, a lot of businesses out there are looking for professional Pinterest Managers. And how would you call yourself a professional if you haven’t chosen a niche for yourself?
2. Pinterest Management Packages
Have you ever talked to a gym owner? Do you see how he explains to you the prices per month of subscription? Like $50 for one month, $90 for two months, $150 for four months, etc.
So what they do is that they design the pricing structure in a way that appeals to the customer to buy the highest price.
In the same way, I have also made a pricing package for my services, which indeed helped to get a lot of clients. It gave my client a proper idea about what they want and how they want it.
3. Provide some extra services
Well, I am not asking you to do free work. But whenever you take up a project and extend your service to something more than what was expected of you.
I know you must be thinking about how this is going to help you make more money.
Well, the answer is that this will help in building trust and a good relationship with your clients, and they will come back to you every time they need a Pinterest Manager.
How Do Pinterest Managers Get Clients?
As a Pinterest Manager, I have tried several ways that you would be able to get clients for yourself. You can try as many ways as you want to get clients for yourself.
1. Pitch your strategy to Businesses
A famous and ultimate way to see improvement in your services is to pitch your strategies to the business.
Whenever I see a brand’s Pinterest account that is not looking good, there is a 90 percent chance that I am sending a text, email, etc. to them about how I can add value to their Pinterest profile.
2. Make connections on LinkedIn
We all know the role that LinkedIn plays in people’s professional lives, right?
So, why can’t you use it for others to connect with other professionals out there?
I have met many professionals who wanted me to manage their Pinterest profiles. You can send connection requests and send a message including your portfolios.
Furthermore, you can join various communities on Linkedin that posts jobs and gigs from time to time.
3. By Using Freelancing Platforms
Guess what? A lot of businesses do not want to hire a full-time Pinterest Manager because their responsibilities do not include a big list.
So, a lot of organizations try to hire a freelancer to manage their Pinterest Services.
Though you will get the most success on Linkedin and platforms like Facebook, but freelancing platforms like Fiverr & Upwork can land you some great clients.
Though Upwork has high fees, but we have also given some steps to save your Upwork charges and fees.
4. Use Facebook, Instagram & WhatsApp
I have used all of my social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, etc. to advertise and promote my Pinterest services.
You can leverage the social platforms given above to find potential clients and manage their Pinterest profiles.
5. Build a Network
Start building your network. Go and socialize with people of your choice and always talk about what you do professionally.
In this way, some people would reach out to you in person if they want you to be their Pinterest Manager.
Spread your words through friends, families, relatives, etc.
Final Thoughts
I can say that all of this information about how to become a Pinterest Manager could be overwhelming because it requires a lot of risks.
As a freelancer, you can manage both your 9 to 5 job and your Pinterest Management. But if you are planning to extend your services to full-time then you must be well prepared.
I suggest you take the online courses on Pinterest Management and use all the tools that you can like Canva and Jasper AI.
This will help in making the content and presentation of the Pinterest Profile way too good.
Keeping yourself motivated, disciplined, and positive is one of the biggest factors.
There were times when I felt demotivated, but thanks to God who was always with me and kept me going.
